St. Louis Regional Arts Commission

Cultural Resource Center

A Place for Every Perspective

The Regional Arts Commission's Cultural Resource Center, located at 6128 Delmar Boulevard in the exciting stretch of the East Loop neighborhood.

In October 2003, the Regional Arts Commission (RAC) opened the region's first Cultural Resource Center to serve nonprofit organizations that produce and present art. The four-story facility features large, flexible space designed to accommodate both administrative and artistic needs, including board rooms, workshop, meeting and classroom space, a rehearsal and performance studio, and gallery.

The Cultural Resource Center is where collaboration happens, ideas are born and strategies set.

Facility Highlights

Kardia, a public art installation in The Gallery.

The Regional Arts Commission strives to foster an open forum for the arts community, and over the years, the valuable input we have received has allowed us to tailor the new resource center to the community’s needs. Here are a few highlights:

  • The three-story building features a striking glass tower alongside artful brickwork, complementing this neighborhood’s historic architecture.

  • The building’s first floor features The Gallery at the Regional Arts Commission, a rehearsal and performance studio and a reception area.

  • The second floor of the building provides additional resources for arts groups with a conference center and a catering kitchen.

  • The third floor houses the administrative offices of the Regional Arts Commission and the Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts, as well as a nonprofit resource library.

  • A rooftop terrace provides a creative space for intimate parties with a terrific view.

  • Also on view are two pieces of public art, both commissioned by RAC. Kardia, an 8½' x 9½' brilliantly-colored glass artwork by William Cochran that can be seen both inside and outside The Gallery, and Haptic Portal, two 10' high bronze panels with viewing portals that flank the front entrance to the building by local artist Lindsey Stouffer. In addition, artwork by local artists is exhibited throughout the building.
